Some of you may know and some not but we have been
in negotiations to buy this loft for awhile now--
We are so excited to move in but there is A LOT of
work to be done! The space is exactly what we need
and is in our fav little neighborhood--here are the
before pics(ie what it looks like now) I will TRY to
keep you updated although I am horrible at this stuff!

The Truth Sometimes Hurts
For those of you who haven't had the joy of seeing me first thing in the morning
this is exactly what I look like:
see more Lolcats and funny pictures
For those that have I am profoundly sorry--
That's right Doug--I'm talkin' to you!

Me and My Groceries--all over town!
Yesterday was shopping day for me--why
Wed you ask? Well the biggest reason
is that it is Doug's poker night with
the guys--other than that: I had time
to come up for air--OR DID I?
Yesterday was an open day with a busy
afternoon/night. Because of my WONDERFUL
neighborhood and neighbors I had my night
chuck full of events(who needs Doug anyway--who?)
SO I went to Smiths, and then to Costco and headed
home only to discover that it was 6pm!! I was
supposed to be at the DCC meeting AT 6 and I still had
to drop off my car and groceries! SO instead of wasting
all that time on that I decided to drive over and let
the groceries wait in the car--an hour wouldn't hurt right?
It's not like I had ice cream in my car and it was July!
So I went to the meeting and of course there were new
people to meet so I stayed for 1.5 hours, then, because
my sister lives in the hood now(which explains everything about
my apparent lack of posting the past few weeks)
so I stopped in to visit her for a sec(timer on groceries now at
2 hours) THEN i realized that I was supposed to be at the No Cookie
Left Behind Party at my neighbor's house at 7:30 SO--I packed all of
my groceries from my car, into the shopping cart that is provided by our
building and headed over to the party--with my groceries--
I planned, as always, to only stay for a few minutes(grocery timer
to be slightly over 2 hours, but if everything was still good it would
keep for another 20 minutes right--keep in mind that this type of
delusion fuels my life ;)) So I went, I partook and stayed for an hour--
grocery timer now at 3 hours--and all of my neighbors making fun of how
much food I actually buy for just the 2 of us--
The truth is--I have a feeling that this is one of the only neighborhoods
in Utah where something like this would happen--I am certainly not the
most busy person or the most social person in the state but I literally
know--outside of any church or work structure 20-30 people in my neighborhood--
WOW--love it!

They asked for it......
Tom and Les asked me to design a masthead for their blog
awhile ago and never provided images(not that I asked)
so, one day last week when I was bored I took a few minutes
to create a faux masthead-for a laugh--
Take a look

Today.......
I was in SUCH a fowl mood--OH-you
have no idea how bad!
Let's just say that I couldn't
figure out what to do first:
punch someone, fling myself into
bed the rest of the day or cry--
actually they almost happened
at the same time(yes--it was THAT
bad)
So I took a much needed walk around
my neighborhood to clear my head
and visit some friends(and work a little
ah multitasking)
It is amazing the lift I got from just
seeing a few friendly faces! I have no idea
who or what would have died if I had lived
in the suburbs today--I was happy for the
reminder: GOD I love living here!
My sis was reading an article to me while
I was pouring over interior design mags
at the bookstore she was, of course, looking
at parenting mags. She was reading an article
about a woman who in NYC where she had her first
baby she felt taken care of and got the exercise
she needed and never felt lonely. THEN she moved coasts
to Cali somewhere and when she had her 2nd child
she suffered some pretty serious withdrawals from her previous
neighborhood because the community wasn't the same(houses more
spread out, neighbors kept to themselves more etc)
I was happy to hear that someone else in this world DOESN'T like
to be isolated!
I always thought that I might be one of the only people on the planet
that is terrified of cabins in the woods and fields and such--simply put:
THERE ARE NO PEOPLE AROUND! If something happens to you no one will hear
you scream! Now I know there are two: me, and the woman in the parenting
magazine
Oh yea and I got my camera back from the repair shop YIPEEE!!!
have no idea how bad!

Girls Weekend--
This weekend Doug and Tom went on their first
biking trip of the year to St. George.
Which left us to our own devices so we
took full advantage!
We: Ran 3 miles, got a massage,
had breakfast at One World Cafe, went
to a movie, had tea at Beehive Tea Room,
hiked in Millcreek Canyon
and much more!
Thanks for a fun weekend Les!
Maybe the boys won't leave us again
(evil laugh)
