Jen and her beautiful daughter came to visit this week. If you recall, I was there when Gwen was born!
It was fun to see her in all her girlie cuteness--Come back and visit again!

Well, I'm certainly not going to be without PLANS!
I don't know about anyone else but I was tired of the old and tired, family exclusive, dry(in all senses), and expensive First Night. I planned this year
to stay in, with friends and be bored. Then I heard about Eve: WOW what a change
this is going to bring to DSLC with it's amazing line up of events for ALL(young, old,
Republican, Democrat, saint and sinner alike!) Events are inside and out and there truly is something for everyone(including little Ms Cleo who may be attending the animal activities at the Gateway)
Check out the schedule and maps at their oh so glossy and easy to use website
From an art treasure hunt, to fireworks, to outdoor concerts to kids crafts all with free parking, dining discounts, and free transportation on the 31st this is the most bang for your $15 there is going to be on the big night and the 2 days before! I'll be there every day! I live in the middle of everything! All of the events are a short, free Trax ride away!

Today.......
I was in SUCH a fowl mood--OH-you
have no idea how bad!
Let's just say that I couldn't
figure out what to do first:
punch someone, fling myself into
bed the rest of the day or cry--
actually they almost happened
at the same time(yes--it was THAT
bad)
So I took a much needed walk around
my neighborhood to clear my head
and visit some friends(and work a little
ah multitasking)
It is amazing the lift I got from just
seeing a few friendly faces! I have no idea
who or what would have died if I had lived
in the suburbs today--I was happy for the
reminder: GOD I love living here!
My sis was reading an article to me while
I was pouring over interior design mags
at the bookstore she was, of course, looking
at parenting mags. She was reading an article
about a woman who in NYC where she had her first
baby she felt taken care of and got the exercise
she needed and never felt lonely. THEN she moved coasts
to Cali somewhere and when she had her 2nd child
she suffered some pretty serious withdrawals from her previous
neighborhood because the community wasn't the same(houses more
spread out, neighbors kept to themselves more etc)
I was happy to hear that someone else in this world DOESN'T like
to be isolated!
I always thought that I might be one of the only people on the planet
that is terrified of cabins in the woods and fields and such--simply put:
THERE ARE NO PEOPLE AROUND! If something happens to you no one will hear
you scream! Now I know there are two: me, and the woman in the parenting
magazine
Oh yea and I got my camera back from the repair shop YIPEEE!!!
have no idea how bad!

Pinch me.....is this real?
i consider myself to be pretty lucky in most ways and feel that all in all i lead what one might consider a full and rewarding life.
So today when I walked into our own private villa in Phuket and I turned to Doug and said "I can now die happy" it had to be pretty amazing
In case you are wondering, yes, we did make it all 26 hours of our travel through San Fransisco, to Hong Kong then to Singapore, then to Phuket today about 2 pm local time.
The trip, happily, was uneventful and even Fischer(mick and nat's 1 year old), who is by the way, the most amazing baby of all time, was in good spirits once we reached Amanpuri.
Here are just some quick pics from when we arrived

Taking away ALL of the fun from blog Voyerism
This is a sad, sad, story so prepare for a shock---
The other day, out of the blue Doug comes out of the bedroom and says: "hugh, you read James and Amelia's Blog?"
"Yea" I replied casually, I check it out with all the rest of my friends!
No big deal right?
"oh" he continues "I guess Amelia has a blog tracker"
"%%!!!** WHAT!!&&** there is such a thing?" I ask in complete horror to my husband who just chuckles(he spends all day designing online stuff) HE looks at me like "what, you thought no one could see you online"
and I scream in complete horror at him:
"well that takes all the fun out of checking personal blogs!" You don't want anyone to know that you check their blog, that is super creepy! My blog checking life as I know it is now over-O V E R!"
Silence for a few seconds to let the weight of this realization get to Doug(while he rolls his eyes, walks away and hopes for the best) and then:
Me "I want a blog tracker.....how/where do I get one?"
Doug: "You know how I feel about blogs....figure it out yourself!"
Me: "party pooper! what good is it having a computer wiz as a husband if you can't help me with this stuff"
Doug: doesn't justify my comment with a response which is pretty typical.
So....for now.......until I decide to go all patriot act on y'all you are safe reading about our adventures without fear of being spied on ;)
